In the first half of this year, China's total cold chain logistics amounted to 3.22 trillion yuan, up 3.9% year-on-year. The volume of cold chain goods flow was 220 million tons, up 4.4% year-on-year. In terms of income, the total income of cold chain logistics in the first half of the year was RMB 277.9 billion, an increase of 3.4% year-on-year.

In addition, as of June 30, the total amount of cold storage in China was 237 million cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 7.73%, of which 9.42 million cubic meters of new storage capacity was added this year. In the first half of this year, the country's cold storage rental volume exceeded 29 million cubic meters, an increase of more than 8% year-on-year.

From field to hub, the construction of cold storage facilities has been accelerated.

Cold storage is an important node in cold chain logistics, undertaking functions such as distribution, sorting and packaging of goods. As an important infrastructure for cold chain logistics, the country is increasing the construction of cold storage facilities at the origin of products to promote the production and marketing of fresh and live agricultural products.

At present, the region has built a total of 20 projects of agricultural products origin cold storage and preservation facilities, the new cold storage and preservation facilities of 78,700 cubic meters.

Not only in the field, in the national backbone cold chain logistics base, standardized cold storage is also an important infrastructure. In Nanchang National Backbone Cold Chain Logistics Base, a standardized cold storage with a capacity of 700,000 cubic meters has been officially put into operation since this year. Through the application of fully variable temperature technology, cold storage and freezing space with different temperature zones can be created. Currently, different cold chain food products enter the logistics base every week, with more than 2,000 categories.

According to the statistics of Cold Chain Logistics Professional Committee of China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, the capital investment in cold storage projects in the first half of this year amounted to 20.718 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 11.39%. The investment and construction of cold storage project maintains rapid growth.

Recently, an imported meat cold chain train arrived at Chengdu International Railway Port. The train has 39 containers, mainly for frozen chicken and beef products. According to the introduction, the frequency of cold chain train operation here now reaches once a week.

In July this year, Nanchang International Land Port opened for the first time the import of cold chain sea-rail intermodal liner. With the help of this regularization of the sea-rail intermodal train, Thailand durian and other Southeast Asian fruits have arrived in Jiangxi. Compared with the traditional land transportation, the cold chain liner transportation efficiency increased by nearly 30%.
